Dr. Teixeira received his medical degree from the Universidad Nova de Lisboa Medical School in Lisbon, Portugal. Upon completion of residency and internship in Portugal, he relocated to the United States. Dr. Teixeira then completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, followed by a Cardiovascular Fellowship and Electrophysiology Fellowship. He then went on to complete Fellowships in Cardiology and Electrophysiology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry in Browns Mills, New Jersey. Later, he relocated to Rapid City to join the Heart Doctors.
Dr. Teixeira is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology. He was instrumental in developing the current Electrophysiology program to implant pacemakers and defibrillators at Rapid City Regional Hospital and remains the only Electrophysiologist in western South Dakota. He is passionate about staying on the cutting edge of medical technology to ensure top-notch medical care to patients in this region.
