Dr. Orecchia received his medical degree from the University of California, in San Francisco, California. He then completed a five-year General Surgery Residency at Letterman Army Medical Center, Presidio, San Francisco, California. He went on to complete a two-year fellowship in Peripheral Vascular Surgery at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. Dr. Orecchia spent the next eight years in private practice in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He spent the next 12 years performing surgeries in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Indiana before joining the Heart Doctors in 2004.

Dr. Orecchia is board certified in General Vascular Surgery and Thoracic and Cardiac Surgery. In addition to a term as president of the Peripheral Vascular Surgery Society, he has produced many publications and given many public presentations.
